Apply for Funding
Youth Empowering Parents (YEP) is inviting organizations interested in operating their own YEP program to request funding to help them do so.
The YEP program is a unique opportunity for youth and adults/seniors. Unlike a traditional adult-education classroom, where one educator teaches a group of adult students, a YEP classroom consists of an educator training youth to provide effective one-on one tutoring for adults of the same linguistic background. Imagine, for example, a 14-year old teaching a 45-year old how to write an email, find directions using Google Maps, or fill out a job application. Adults learn key English and computer skills from their youth tutor and develop skills that enable them to function better in everyday life. Youth develop skills around maturity, leadership, and communication.
- Organizations applying for YEP Program Grants must:
- be a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registered charity, and
- intend to operate the program in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Applications from individuals are not eligible. We accept requests only from organizations.
Completed Letters of Intent must be emailed by applicants and received by YEP on or before 11:59 p.m. EST of the deadline dates. We encourage you to apply early. There are three deadlines:
- Wednesday, March 1st, 2017
- Friday, June 30th, 2017
- Friday, October 27th, 2017
